Well, what a roller-coaster of a week last week was! A manic couple of days recording voiceovers in the new studio here in Guildford before heading up to London town for a couple of fantastic days catching up with work colleagues and friends, chairing and doing panel talks, and promoting my services to the Media broadcast industry.

It was great to be back at The Media Production & Technology Show in Olympia (MPTS) after a couple of years!

I had the pleasure of sponsoring the Audio Theatre at MPTS along with putting together a panel talk called ‘A Voice in the Mix’ talking about how the industry can benefit from working with professional voiceovers and utilising the time better when in sessions to get a great piece of work produced, saving the team time and money in production.MPTS22

I was honoured to also be asked to chair a couple of talks in the Audio Theatre for The Podcast Show, which launches on 25/26th May (Yes I will be there!) on Agents talking talent in the podcast sector along with the importance of owning your own IP in podcasting.

It was a fun couple of days and I got to see so many people who I haven’t seen for a few years because of the pandemic. Oh, the hugs and pure joy of seeing these people in person was amazing… or in my terminology AMAZEBALLS!

The buzz, excitement and learning were awesome. The team behind putting MPTS should be rewarded for putting on such a slick and professional show, especially Charlotte Wheeler for her sterling job of putting this together! I hope she and the team can have a few days relaxing as they bloomin deserve it.

I haven’t been to a show like that for many years and to see so many smiles on people’s faces. It definitely was great to be back!

The talks were brilliant and I especially loved hearing the conversation with Re-Recording Mixer Chris Burdon, on his career and the upcoming release of  Top Gun: Maverick with Ben Nemes.

Also really enjoyed listening to ‘Drama : Low Cost – High Impact’ with Sally Lindsay, Mike Benson and Seb Cardwell on how some great productions can be commissioned on low budgets, but still creating high impact dramas and not necessarily using mainstream all the time. Very refreshing!

So here’s to all the follow-ups, working with old and new colleagues doing what I do best, using my voice and getting behind that microphone!

I also hope to invite many of these lovely people to the new studio here in Guildford or connect remotely with all these production studios across the globe providing professional services for great content. #SourceConnectPro #Protools #Neumannmicrophones #broadcaststudio #professionalvoice
