After a lovely summer of voicing for some new games and a great visit at Develop 2017 this year catching up with colleagues and friends, it’s time to get back into the studio and become another character!

But before heading to do that it was lovely to hear the news that I am a finalist for this year’s TIGA Games Industry Awards for my contribution to Audio Services in the industry.

This was a lovely acknowledgement and gives me a huge sense of pride for my skills in the audio industry of which I am so passionate about, especially when it comes to audio excellence and providing a great service to all my clients and of course the video games industry. Thank you TIGA!

I am up against some fantastic companies, so even that is a wonderful accolade to be chosen alongside them. Whoever wins, we should all be proud and raise a glass (cue P!nk :-0)

TIGA’s Games Industry Awards are being held at the Victoria & Albert Museum this year on Thursday 2nd November 2017 and is set to be a fun night. You will also hear my dulcet tones as I am one of the Voice of Gods for this event, so I ask you to take your seats please do promptly ;-).

For more information on TIGA please visit their website.

The gaming industry has been electrifying and still continues to be, especially with Augmented reality (AR) and Virtual reality (VR). Within the acting industry Motion Capture and Performance Capture have become part of the norm and opened up many opportunities for actors to train and perform in a different way, creating true and believable characters for the gaming, film and animation industries.

Did you know that The UK video games sector is the largest in Europe and provides a huge financial revenue to the UK. As TIGA reports, “Some of the best performing games IP globally is generated in the UK. Notable examples include the Grand Theft Auto franchise, developed by Rockstar. Other UK studios have produced major games franchises such as Batman and Lego, as well as individual world-class titles such as RuneScape (developed by Jagex), the Sniper Elite series (developed by Rebellion) and Worms (developed by Team 17).”

If you are attending the ceremony then I look forward to seeing you there and please do say hello!
